Arizona Health Insurance - Individual

You may qualify for the Utah UPP program or one of the several other State of Utah financial assistance programs for health insurance designed to help meet the health care needs of Utah residents

UPP (Utah's Premium Partnership for Health Insurance) helps make health insurance more affordable for working individuals and families who do not currently have health insurance. UPP (pronounced ‘up’) helps you pay your monthly health insurance premiums through your employer’s health insurance plan.

 

Check to see if you qualify for the Utah Health Plan first.

Medicaid is a program which covers medical expenses for certain groups of people who have limited income and resources. Eligibility for Medicaid programs is determined by meeting certain eligibility requirements. This plan is for Utah resident with the lowest incomes.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Created and financed primarily by the federal government. Similar benefits to OHP/Medicaid but designed specifically for children.

Utah’s Premium Partnership for Health Insurance (UPP)

In Utah, the UPP program helps make health insurance more affordable for working individuals and families. Funded with a HIFA (Health Insurance Flexibility and Accountability) Waiver, UPP is for adults and children who do not currently have health insurance, and it helps pay monthly premiums in an employer’s health insurance plan. Qualifications depend on family size and income, and if the structure of the employer's health insurance plan meets guidelines.

HIV Treatment and Care Program and Aids Drug Assistant Program (ADAP/APICP)

The HIV Treatment and Care Program and ADAP can provide assistance in paying insurance premiums and co-pays for HIV medications if you meet the program requirements. *REQUIREMENTS FOR ADAP and ACPIC PROGRAMS*

  • You must have HIV/AIDS
  • Your income must be low
  • You must be below a certain asset level
  • You cannot be on Medicaid or have any other public or private health insurance
  • You must live in Utah

HIP Options in Arizona Utah Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool (HIPUtah)

The Utah Medical Insurance Pool (HIPUtah) provides medical insurance coverage for all residents of Utah who are unable to obtain medical insurance because of health conditions. OMIP also provides health benefit portability coverage to Utah residents who have exhausted COBRA benefits and have no other portability options available to them. OMIP has four preferred providers medical plans from which enrollees may choose.

The Department of Aging & Adult Services offers a statewide network of trained people. This program HIIP (Health Insurance Information Program) advocates for people with Medicare and other health care issues for Seniors. HIIP helps people with Medicare understand their rights and options in health insurance, so that they can make informed choices.
